Some project problems need better control. Others need people to work differently. Treating an adaptive challenge as a technical fix is the most common leadership failure on complex, multi-party programmes.

Leading in Complexity — Adaptive Work on Live Projects is a ~3-hour Leadership Vault course for project directors, PMs and PMC leads coordinating client, designer, contractor and consultants. Through the Nagvalli Metro Line 3 East Extension case — a live urban transit programme under a public December date — you learn to diagnose complexity (human behaviour, system behaviour, ambiguity), tell technical work from adaptive work, lead across the whole value chain rather than your own lane, build one team across four logos, and reframe the public promise under uncertainty before the board locks a single fragile date.

What you will learn

• Explain PMI’s three complexity categories and why complexity is not proportional to size.
• Run a facilitated complexity assessment as a diagnostic conversation — not a score.
• Distinguish technical from adaptive challenges, and apply five adaptive-leadership principles.
• Evaluate holistic versus downward-focused leadership and choose the highest-leverage leader move.
• Recommend a mid-delivery adaptive reset: shared consciousness, empowered execution, and scenario reframing of the public promise.

Project directors, project managers and PMC leads on multi-party megaprojects where interfaces, politics and uncertainty interact. Intermediate–advanced; familiarity with capital delivery is assumed.
